Latin American Conference of Applications of Mössbauer Effect (LACAME) is aimed not only for academic world (researchers, graduate and undergraduate students) but also to people from industry and all those who became interested to work with the Mössbauer technique. The event would be held in Santiago from November 18th to 23rd 2018, celebrated and sponsored for the second time by Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
The main scope of LACAME 2018 is to spread the important potentialities that arise from the use of Mössbauer spectroscopy on different areas including metallurgy, corrosion, mining, soils, meteorites, catalysis, archeology, nanomaterials, among others; some of them with highly interesting industrial applications. To date, in Chile we have access to a cutting-edge Mössbauer spectrometer at the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) being one of our objectives to place our labs into top positions both local and abroad.
Among many scheduled activities, there are lectures, oral communications, poster sessions and short courses considered, involving original results presented by researchers, students and people from industry that belong to the international Mössbauer community. Moreover, to stablish the area’s state-of-the-art and projections, key-lectures are confirmed from renowned guests from all over the world.
A main objective of this meeting is to bring this technique closer to undergraduate and graduate students that do not have access to other international conferences related to Mössbauer spectroscopy, as ICAME, IBAME and ISIAME. In addition to scientific presentations, a social program is also considered to reinforce relationships between people from scientific and industrial areas interested on the development and applications of Mössbauer spectroscopy.
